Introducing Smokefree Island, formerly Healthy Lifestyles Isle of Wight. We have been providing an evidence based, stop smoking service for the Isle of Wight community since 1 January 2021.
Service users can either self-refer to the service here or by calling 01983 642369 or 0800 999 1396. Healthcare professionals can also submit referrals on their behalf using the Professional Referrals tab.
Smokefree Island Isle of Wight will engage and bring together a range of local partner agencies to help reduce inequalities across the Isle of Wight. The service will enable residents to access stop smoking interventions seamlessly.
Very Brief Advice encourages those who come into contact with smokers to confidently ask smoking status, advise on support available locally and act by referral to Smokefree Island. Guidance from the Department of Health has identified that the systematic delivery of very brief advice (VBA) and referral of smokers to effective, evidence-based stop smoking services are a vital part of ensuring that these individuals access the most effective method of stopping smoking. All training is free.
